Introduction to Floristry

This four-week introduction to floristry course is suitable for absolute beginners with no floral experience. Hosted by Emily master florist of Persephone Violet, she will walk you through the basics of floral design. Beginning with the popular hand-tied bouquet. We start this journey by understanding the basics of flower care, conditioning, spiralling, and looking after your flowers within the home. Followed by an arrangement in a medium where we explore a variety of design styles that you could recreate at home. Next up we have a buttonhole and a corsage, these designs are small and intricate. Honing in on the wiring and taping of materials these skills are the foundations of creating a small but perfectly formed design that will last for the duration of any event. We finish with a fabulous flower crown utilising the skill of glueing. We will use lots of beautiful materials such as ribbons, fresh foliage and a variety of flowers, with a specialist glueing technique to construct this delicate yet robust design. This will create a head-turning show piece you will be thrilled to wear home from our class.
