Congratulations to Lauren, who has recently started a full-time role as a travel agent with Highworth Travel, just weeks after completing her Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

As someone with a keen passion for travel, who has visited many countries on family holidays, there was never any doubt that Travel and Tourism was the right course for Lauren to study at College.

As part of the Travel and Tourism course, Lauren was required to complete 30 hours of relevant work experience, and she secured a placement with Highworth Travel. During her placement, Lauren successfully booked a number of expensive long-haul holidays for customers. The feedback Lauren received from her employer was excellent, in fact, they were so impressed that they offered her a full-time position.

“From day one of the course, Lauren was an enthusiastic learner who worked hard and is on track to receive top grades.”, said Karen Lucker, one of Lauren’s lecturers, “She excelled in many of the units, including Cabin Crew where she was able to demonstrate a number of skills, and Resort Representative where she delivered a brilliant welcome meeting to her peers. The Travel Destinations unit was a particular favourite for Lauren, and she will be able to utilise what she learnt in her new role.”

We wish Lauren the best of luck with this exciting new chapter.
