Development at Cirencester College continues to flourish with the announcement of the successful funding bid for a new Student Wellbeing Hub.

The £3.5m development will be partially funded through a £2.8m grant from the Department for Education’s Post-16 Capacity Fund, which the College have secured to accommodate increased student numbers. The three-storey building will provide three large classrooms, a new home for our pastoral care team, and an expansion to dining, study and social space for the students. It is scheduled to be completed in the Autumn of 2024.

This development follows the opening this year of the College’s £5m specialist T-level Centre, the new Art Loft which will be completed in September and the opening of  the Gloucestershire Digital Skills Centre in 2022.  This new development forms part of the innovative design work of architects Roberts Limbrick, who have played a major part in the redesign of the campus and the transformation of the front of the College.

Matt Reynolds, Interim Principal at Cirencester College, said “We are delighted to have secured funding for the development of a new section of the College. We’re driven to create a future proof campus that enables Cirencester College to continue its journey as a top-flight provider with up to the minute facilities. This is such good news for our learners and staff. It’s a wonderful opportunity to be able to create even more innovative, creative and supportive learning environments for them.”

Sam Carter, Managing Director at E G Carter & Co Ltd’s said “We were delighted to learn that Cirencester College were successful with their most recent funding approval for the Student Wellbeing Hub Building.  Having recently completed both the Digital Building and T-level Building projects with the team, and currently working on site on two refurbishment projects, we look forward to continuing our relationship with the College and the Design Team and working collaboratively to help the College deliver on this latest phase of expansion.”

David Wint, Senior Associate at Roberts Limbrick said “We are excited to be continuing our work with Cirencester College on this fantastic new facility to create much needed additional space for learning, dining and student support. This is another example of the long-term vision that the College has been so successful in implementing over the past 5 years.”

David Marks, Associate Partner of Ward Williams Associates, Project Manager and Cost Consultants for the project said: “Ward Williams Associates are delighted to see that funding for the new Student Well-Being Hub has been approved and look forward to continuing our working relationship with Cirencester College. The new 3 storey building will provide the College with additional dining space as well as classrooms and study areas, necessary for the expanding needs of the College. Following on from the successes of both the new Digital Building and T Level Building, this new project continues the College vision to provide students with high quality educational facilities”.
